St. Peter's Nursing Home is a purpose built home set beautifully in quiet, discreet grounds on the outskirts of Castlebellingham Village, Co. Louth.  The home is situated within walking distance of the local shops, post office and church. St. Peter's is 15 minutes from Dundalk and Ardee and 20 minutes from Drogheda. It is served by good public transport and we have ample care parking available. This purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility is luxuriously furnished to provide a comfortable home for it residence. The building is designed to ensure all residents have a view of the court yard or landscaped gardens where residents and guests can stroll in safety and privacy.

St. Peter's has been awarded the EIQA Quality of Care Standard for Nursing Homes, an independent quality accreditation based on stringent quality and hygiene standards.


St. Peter's is fully registered with the HSE Dublin North East Area and HIQA.  The home is also approved by the VHI, Quinn Healthcare and Hibernian Aviva Health.

2010 National Award

We are delighted to announce that St. Peter's Nursing Home was awarded the Excellence Ireland Q Mark Irish Nursing Home of the Year 2010 at an awards ceremony at the Burlington hotel on September 24th last.  St. Peter's is the first Louth home to win this pretigious award.

Catering and Nutritional Requirements

Dining in St. Peter’s is a social experience to look forward to and be enjoyed by all. Our catering service is provided in conjunction with Campbell Bewley catering.  Pat, our award winning chef, prepares menus which comprise fresh, seasonal ingredients so that every meal is not only nutritious but also looks great and tastes delicious. It is important that our residents eat what they like, whether a lovely wholesome meal or a varied three course dinner.  There is a choice available everyday and the dishes we prepare reflect and include the likes and requests of our residents.

St. Peter's provides residents with a choice of homemade dishes and freshly baked goods each day which residents can choose to take in the dining room or, if they prefer, in the comfort of their own room.

Social Activities

At St. Peter’s the managed social activities program plays a key role in ensuring our residents maintain a happy outlook.  We endeavor to provide as wide a range of activities as possible to cater for physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the residents.

Meet the St. Peter's Team

Director of Nursing:

Kevin Haskins R.G.N. is the Director of Nursing at St. Peter’s Nursing Home.  Kevin is a qualified nurse graduated and has worked in various acute hospitals and managed a number of leading nursing homes.  Kevin holds a Diploma in Health Srvices Management form University of Limerick and has a BA Degree from Bristol Polytechnic, U.K.   Together with his team of more than 40 staff who are dedicated to the St. Peter’s vision of ‘meeting the needs of our residents by providing them with the highest level of person centered care and service’. Kevin and his team pride themselves on the successful links between St. Peters and the local community.

Kevin is supported by a very experienced team of nursing and care staff. 

Catherine Rooney is our Administrator and Anne Gilfedder is our Head Housekeeper.
