Dementia / Alzheimer's Care

Dementia is a general term used to describe a group of symptoms. These include deterioration in memory, and judgment, intellect, deterioration in social skills and language.  Alzheimer's Disease is the most common casue of dementia and accounts for more than 50% of all cases.

We provide dedicated care for residents with dementia in Gormanston Wood and St. Peters's Nursing Homes  We have seperate areas for dementia residents that have  secure dementia courtyards with access walkways through which residents can wander safely.  We have alos invested heavily in specialsed training for our staff so as to provide the highest level of care to our resdients.  For more information please discuss wiht the Director of Nursing.

A monitoring system is installed each home, this system has personal tracking devices on each resident to ensure their safety and whereabouts is known at all times.
